Family Systems Therapy

Helps individuals resolve the issues causing distress within the context of marriage, couples and family unit. Each family member works together to understand their communication patterns, roles, expectations and group dynamics with a goal to increase emotional connectivity, and resolve issues that are causing distress to one or more family members. Recent statistics reported by the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (www.aamft.org) state a significant (73.7%) improvement in the child’s behavior and performance in school when the child was the identified patient. 90% of clients report an improvement in their emotional health, two-thirds report an improvement in their overall physical health and three-fourth report an improvement in their couple relationship.

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

Is a well-known humanistic approach with its roots in attachment theory. EFT is best known as a cutting-edge, empirically validated, highly successful. emotionally based couple intervention. We focus on the outcome and process of change by addressing dysfunctional patterns of emotional regulation and learning ways of engaging with one another to rekindle the physical and emotional bond. In research studies, EFT is considered as the gold standard and has helped over 90% couples improve their relationship and over 70% of couples recover from distress (www.iceeft.com).

Imago Relationship Therapy (IRT)

The goal is for couples to understand each other’s feelings and ‘childhood wounds’ more empathically, allow healing to happen and to move away from blame and reactivity so they can develop a deeper and loving connection with each other. I will guide you through a structured conversation called the ‘Imago Dialog’ to help gain understanding, empathy and to minimize hurtful comments and judgements. In many research studies, IRT has found to help couples improve intimacy and emotional connectivity (www.imagorelationshipswork.com).

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

Is a structured, evidenced based, goal- oriented approach focused on understanding the interaction between thoughts, emotions and actions. Using CBT, I help clients challenge painful thoughts patterns and behaviors that cause emotional distress and help them learn coping strategies to adopt healthier thinking patterns. The efficacy of CBT in treatment of anxiety disorders and depression (50-75%) is well recognized (www.abct.org).
